About Pleural Seminar Wales 2025

Objectives, Wales Pleural Group, contact details, acknowledgements, and past events.

Objectives

Pleural Seminar Wales is held annually each November and organised by the Wales Pleural Group, a collaborative network supported by the Welsh Thoracic Society and the wider NHS Wales respiratory community.

  • Strengthen the national network of clinicians involved in pleural medicine.
  • Share learning from Welsh and UK initiatives such as Project Cymru and the Mesothelioma Network Cymru.
  • Promote consistent, high-quality pleural care across all Welsh Health Boards.
  • Support service development through practical education, case-based discussion, and cross-site collaboration.
  • Encourage multidisciplinary engagement — bringing together respiratory physicians, specialist nurses, radiologists, oncologists, and allied health professionals.
